Things To Do When Your Car Is Impounded

Recommended Towing is one of Perth’s authorised police holding yards and storage facilities for impounded vehicles.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO COLLECT MY VEHICLE?

IF THE VEHCILE IS REGISTERED TO AN INDIVIDUAL EITHER:

  1. Complete the online application “Vehicle Release Form”. You will be required to submit 100 points of identification with your application. https://www.police.wa.gov.au/Police-Direct/Traffic  This form can be submitted anytime whilst your vehicle is in impound.  You will need to bring your 100 points of identification with you when attending to collect your vehicle.
  2. Attend the impound yard on the day that the vehicle is due for release and bring your 100 points of identification, staff can assist you to complete a “Vehicle Release Form” on the day of release.

IF THE VEHICLE IS REGISTERED TO A BUSINESS:

If the vehicle is registered to a business you MUST complete the online application for “Vehicle Release Form” prior to the release date.  Please contact the Property Management Division of WA Police on 08 9373 2440 to discuss the requirements of what will need to be submitted with the application for release.  This form needs to be submitted and approved by the Property Management Division before we can release the vehicle.  The original appropriate identification and paperwork will need to be produced upon collection.

CAN I SEND SOMEONE ELSE TO COLLECT ON MY BEHALF?

Yes you can!  You will need to complete the online application “Vehicle Release Form”.  There is a section on the bottom of the form for you to nominate another person to collect the vehicle for you from the impound yard.  You will need to submit 100 points of identification for yourself and 100 points of identification for your nominated person.  Once submitted and approved by the Property Management Division of the WA Police, the vehicle can be collected by your nominated person on (or after) the release date.  Your nominated person must bring 100 points of identification with them when collecting the vehicle.  Vehicle Release Form can be found at the following link https://www.police.wa.gov.au/Police-Direct/Traffic

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY IMPOUND?

You have several options for payment of your impounded vehicle.  You can pay online direct into the bank account provided to you in the mail out that you receive shortly after impound.  Please remember though that this must be done at least 48 hours prior to collection day so that cleared funds are in AAAC Towing’s Bank account.

Alternatively you can pay by Cash, EFTPOS or Credit Card at our yard on collection.  Please note that a 1% surcharge is applied to all Credit Card Transaction.  CHEQUES ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

WHAT IF I CAN’T COME ON THE DUE DATE TO COLLECT MY CAR?

If you can’t come on the day to collect your vehicle please ring our office to let us know or advise when you will be collecting the vehicle.  Please be aware that daily storage charges are applied after the due date.  Our office staff can advise you of the costs when you call.

WHAT CAN I DO IF I DON’T HAVE A LICENCED DRIVER TO PICK UP MY CAR?

We will be happy to provide you with a quote to tow your car to the location of your choosing. Feel free to call us for quote before the day!

WHEN CAN I COLLECT MY VEHICLE?

Monday to Friday 8am to 4.15pm

Saturday’s STRICTLY BY APPOINTMNET ONLY from 9.00am to 11.30am.
